Sicilian food

Sicily was wonderful.
And while I'm still waiting to get my films back from the lab, here are some photos of the most incredible food (shot with my phone), in chronological order:

antipasti, zia Pina, Palermo

a beer after lunch, Antica Foccacceria San Francesco, Palermo

brioche con gelato di gelsi e panna, Ilardo, Palermo

brioche con gelato di pistacchi e gelsi, La Delizia, Mondello

cannolo espresso, Rosciglioni, Palermo

granita di gelsi con la panna, Ilardo, Palermo

cappuccino e torta di mandorle, arancia e cioccolato bianco, Cioccolateria Lorenzo, Palermo

cassata, Antica Dolceria Bonajuto, Modica

granita mandorle e caffè, Caffè Sicilia, Noto

...afterward

figs from the tree behind the house, Ispica

dolcetti from the nuns in Siracusa

the best pizza ever, Calvino, Trapani

pane cunzatu, Trapani

cappuccino, Scopello

PS: I didn't take any photo of pane panelle e crocchè, but if you ever go to Palermo it should definitely be on your list of street food to try; it's a sandwich stuffed with chickpea flour fritters and potato croquettes (we loved the one at Franco o'Vastiddaru). It makes me hungry just to think about it.

I'll be back soon with "real" photos!
